【摘要】:Thispracticeisapplicabletosamplingsoilsandsimilarfine-grainedcohesivematerials.Thispracticeistobeusedbypersonnelwhoaretoacquirethesamples.ThispracticeshouldbeusedinconjunctionwithGuideD4687,whichcoverssamplingplans,safety,qualityassurance,preservation,decontamination,labeling,andchain-of-custodyprocedures;PracticeD5088,whichcoversthedecontaminationoffieldequipmentusedatwastesites;andPracticeD5283,whichcoversprojectspecificationsandpracticesforenvironmentalfieldoperations.1.1Thispracticecoverssamplingusingatrier.AtrierresemblesanelongatedscoopasshowninFig.1.Thetrierisusedtocollectsamplesofgranularorpowderedmaterialsthataremoistorstickyandhaveaparticlediameterlessthanone-halfthediameterofthetrier.1.2Thetriercanbeusedasaverticalcoringdeviceonlywhenitiscertainthatarelativelycompleteandcylindricalsamplecanbeextracted.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
